Conference Dates Coming Soon
The Federal Advocacy Conference is a unique opportunity for APA members to engage members of Congress on issues that affect psychiatry and our patients. The conference is a powerful opportunity to raise our collective voice and take part in psychiatry’s critical role in shaping health care policy with the US Congress.
Before holding face-to-face meetings with federal legislators and staff, attendees learn first-hand about APA’s legislative agenda with Congress. The experience includes insights on the inner workings of Congress and the legislative process, as well as hands-on advocacy training to help prepare attendees to go to Capitol Hill and lobby for psychiatrists and your patients.
In 2025, APA had 172 members attend the conference, and APA members took part in 191 congressional meetings which covered 46 states and DC, 106 House meetings and 85 Senate meetings.
The Federal Advocacy Conference takes place in the fall, alternating years with our State Advocacy Conference. Dates for the 2027 Federal Advocacy Conference will be announced in early 2027. Registration is open to all APA members.
