Programs

MTDA puts no limits on learning. Students can access their distance learning classes whenever and wherever they want, eliminating schedule conflicts and expanding academic options while helping many students to graduate on time. Our extensive course catalog expands access to Advanced Placement® and specialized elective courses, especially for our rural schools. Courses are offered during the fall, spring, and summer terms. MTDA exclusively uses Montana public school teachers.
The Frontier Learning Lab (FLL) is Montana Digital Academy’s new statewide learning lab for cutting-edge learning tools—a place where teachers and students can explore artificial intelligence, virtual and augmented reality, and other emerging tech without leaving Big Sky Country. Anchored in the values of expanded access, strong privacy, and solid learning science, the Lab serves as a central hub that curates tools, surfaces best practices, and sparks practical innovation in every corner of the state, from bustling city schools to the most remote one-room classrooms.
MTDA Clearinghouse was created by the 2023 Montana Legislature, to expand digital learning services available to K-12 students in Montana public schools. Through a centralized portal, the Clearinghouse provides schools access to digital content, online courses, and other educational services from MTDA and third-party providers. The Montana Digital Academy administers the Clearinghouse, evaluates providers, resources, courses, and services for quality, negotiates group pricing, assists schools with implementation, and provides expertise and leadership in digital learning.
EdReady Montana is an adaptive online learning tool offered by Montana Digital Academy, designed to help students and adult learners strengthen their math (grade 5+) and English (grade 9+) skills. Thanks to the generous support of the Dennis and Phyllis Washington Foundation, EdReady Montana has been provided at no cost to all Montanans since its launch in 2014.
