Provider Services Changes Coming in April

March 11, 2026

The Provider Services Portal will transition to a new Single Sign-On platform, ICAP, effective April 13, 2026.

Existing users of the Provider Services Portal will be automatically transitioned to ICAP using the email address currently on file. Between April 6–10, 2026, users will receive an email containing a temporary password and a link to access ICAP.

When logging in for the first time, use your email address as the username and the provided temporary password. You will then be prompted to create a new password to complete your ICAP registration.

Once logged in, you will see a Provider Tile on the ICAP home page. Click the Provider Tile to access the Provider Services Workbench.

Although users may register early, access to the Provider Services Portal through ICAP will only be available beginning April 13, 2026. Users will continue to access the Provider Services Portal as usual until April 13, 2026.

Medicaid Enterprise Systems (MES) Provider Services Portal Single Sign-On

January 16, 2026

We are excited to announce that in the Spring of 2026, the Medicaid Enterprise Systems (MES) Provider Services Portal will be moving to a Single Sign-On (SSO) account for access to all systems used to support your business with Montana Healthcare Programs. Stay tuned for more information.

With SSO, you use one set of credentials (an email and password) to access many different applications and websites, rather than logging in to each one separately.

Provider Record NPI Updates

October 17, 2025

DPHHS is collaborating with BSW, SDMI, CFC and PAS providers to add NPI numbers to provider records. Emails are being sent to the program distribution lists with the information below. The file of records being reviewed is posted. The spreadsheet on file is now available. Going forward, DPHHS will update at least once a week as we get the information back from providers.

Who this effort affects:
Per the presentation for the team number rollout (see: February 2025 Team Number Rollout), Providers were to procure NPIs on the NPPES website, if they did not already have one. To facilitate collection, we have uploaded a file with all providers indicting those where we are missing their NPI. Column E on the spreadsheet on file will be yellow for those who are missing an NPI.

What to do:
If you see that there is information missing for your tax ID, then please send an email to [email protected] with your Provider ID, Name and the NPI number you would like associated. When all provider IDs under a single tax ID have the NPIs provided, the provider IDs will be added to a batch to have the NPI added to the record(s).

When to do this by:
Please respond by September 15, 2025. Once the NPI is in Optum for all records, the provider is requested to add the additional locations or settings not already enrolled (example Self-Direct or Agency Based if one is on file and the other is not and both are relevant). Thank you for your consideration. Reach out to [email protected] should you have any questions.

Temporary Expanded Provider and Member Support Call Center Downtime

August 21, 2025

The provider and member support call centers will have temporary expanded downtime. The downtime will be weekly. Thursdays 3:30 PM - 4:30 PM.
The expanded downtimes will be in place to focus on training in efforts to deliver ongoing improved services to members and providers. An update will be given on plans to return to the regular bi-weekly downtime of Thursdays 4:00 PM- 4:30 PM.
Providers are encouraged to use online automated services during downtime. The IVR and MATH portal are available to support claims and member eligibility information.

For more information, please contact Montana Provider Relations at (800) 624-3958 or (406) 442-1837 or email: [email protected]. Thank you for understanding.
