01. About me
Who I am

I'm David Arsénio Martins, known as Vidi since childhood. I'm a full-stack and mobile Software Developer and the founder of iVidi.dev, where I build web products and apps for individuals and small businesses. I'm also open to full-time roles in a development team.
At iVidi.dev I built this bilingual Next.js site, a Client Portal in Next.js, Supabase and Stripe to follow projects, invoices and files, and the iOS/Android app with Capacitor, now live on the App Store. Before that, I was a Software Developer intern at People to People (April to July 2026), where I built backend logic and JavaScript components to automate sales processes, a scoring engine that prioritised around 200 sales opportunities, and REST/SOAP integrations.
Before code, photography was my life: I hold a BA in Photography and Visual Culture from IADE and spent 16 years as a freelance photojournalist, working for national and international newspapers, agencies, football clubs and companies, in Portugal and abroad. That's where I learned to manage clients, quotes and deliveries under tight deadlines. My first steps in IT were as an IT technician, on the help desk at Teixeira Duarte and Hospital Prof. Doutor Fernando Fonseca.
I completed the Software Developer programme at CESAE Digital (Reskilling 4 Employment) and I'm now taking the Python for Artificial Intelligence and Large Language Models (LLM) course at CINEL. Outside of code I'm still a photographer at heart, a chess and sudoku enthusiast, and someone who believes that learning every day is what makes the difference.
