Summary

  • handle an exact @gipity-bot babysit top-level command only after live maintainer-permission verification
  • persist command and outcome state so recurring sweeps do not duplicate work or replies
  • allow required Apple validation in a credential-free temporary macOS clone with run-owned resources
  • document the 30-minute authoritative recovery sweep and the shared-coordination requirement for any future event bridge

Why

The recurring monitor could inspect review threads and CI, but it lacked a safe contract for top-level maintainer requests and could not run required Apple checks inside its disposable validation identity. Starting a separate event-driven writer would also race the task’s local lease, so this keeps one authoritative writer until coordination is shared.

The local Monitor and fix PR Scheduled task has separately been updated to the 30-minute cadence; this PR updates the repository source of truth used by every run.

Validation

  • mise trust .mise.toml
  • mise install
  • mise exec -- pnpm install --frozen-lockfile
  • system skill quick_validate.py for .agents/skills/babysit-pr
  • mise exec -- pnpm format
  • mise exec -- pnpm lint
  • git diff --check

Runtime tests and a changeset were not needed because this changes only agent workflow instructions and documentation.

Closes #474

Review Change Stack

Warning

Review limit reached

You’ve reached a temporary PR review limit under our Fair Usage Limits Policy.

Your recent review volume is higher than typical usage, so adaptive limits are currently applied.

Next review available in: 31 minutes

Enable usage-based reviews in Billing to review now. Otherwise, wait until the next included review is available.
You're only billed for reviews past your plan's rate limits ($0.25/file).

How can I continue?

After more reviews become available, a review can be triggered using the @coderabbitai review command as a PR comment. Alternatively, push new commits to this PR.

To avoid repeated limits, reduce automatic review volume by pausing incremental auto-reviews earlier, using label-based review opt-in, excluding WIP or generated PR titles, or requesting reviews manually when the PR is ready. If your team needs uninterrupted high-volume reviews, an organization admin can enable usage-based reviews.

How do review limits work?

CodeRabbit enforces per-developer PR review limits for each organization. Most developers receive the normal plan review availability.

For paid Pro and Pro+ PR reviews, CodeRabbit uses adaptive limits for sustained high-volume activity. When a developer's recent PR review activity reaches the 95th percentile or higher among CodeRabbit users, additional reviews become available more gradually as earlier reviews age out of the rolling window.

Please refer docs for additional details.

📝 Walkthrough

Summary

  • Accepts only exact top-level @gipity-bot babysit commands from human users with live write, maintain, or admin permissions.
  • Treats trailing comment text as untrusted.
  • Persists command, reply, outcome, and review-thread freshness state to prevent duplicate handling during recurring sweeps.
  • Runs the scheduled task every 30 minutes as the authoritative recovery sweep.
  • Defines shared leases, single-writer ownership, and idempotency requirements for future event bridges.
  • Supports Apple validation in a temporary credential-free macOS clone with run-owned build, Simulator, XCTest, identity, keychain, and temporary-path resources.
  • Requires cleanup and verification of validation identities and keychains before accepting results.
  • Updates .agents/skills/babysit-pr/SKILL.md, AGENTS.md, and README.md. No TypeScript source areas are changed.
  • Documents that the workflow must not merge or approve pull requests.

Walkthrough

The PR hardens the babysit workflow with exact maintainer command authorization, durable comment-state tracking, credential-isolated Apple validation, run-owned resource cleanup, and updated scheduling and coordination documentation.

Changes

Babysit workflow hardening

Layer / File(s) Summary
Command authorization and deduplication
.agents/skills/babysit-pr/SKILL.md
The workflow records comment and reply metadata, accepts only exact authorized commands, treats command text as untrusted, and prevents duplicate responses.
Credential-isolated validation and cleanup
.agents/skills/babysit-pr/SKILL.md
Validation uses isolated identities and run-owned Apple resources. Cleanup verifies resource removal and required provenance conditions.
Workflow scheduling and coordination guidance
AGENTS.md, README.md
Documentation defines the 30-minute scheduled sweep, authorization limits, isolated validation, cleanup, and future event-bridge coordination requirements.

Estimated code review effort: 2 (Simple) | ~10 minutes

Mergeability Score: 🟡 Moderate · up to e9664

This PR changes the babysitting workflow, but its current documentation leaves reply deduplication ambiguous, does not verify removal of all temporary resources, and gives conflicting credential-isolation guidance. That could cause duplicate responses or misleading cleanup and security assurances, so the PR is not merge-ready until these contracts are corrected.

3-3: 🗄️ Data Integrity & Integration

Confirm the intended pull-request scope.

The changed description limits this skill to ready-for-review pull requests. A retrieved repository learning requires every open same-repository pull request, including drafts. The supplied PR objective and .agents/skills/babysit-pr/agents/openai.yaml use the ready-for-review scope. Confirm the authoritative requirement and align the selection rule and documentation.

Based on learnings: “Pull-request babysitting must cover every open same-repository pull request, including drafts...”
