In `@apps/web-app/src/lib/auth-token.ts`:
- Line 44: Validate that the URL from NEON_AUTH_JWKS_URL uses the https protocol
before assigning remoteJwks or calling createRemoteJWKSet; reject non-HTTPS
URLs, including http, without creating the remote JWKS client.
In `@apps/web-app/src/routes/api/files/`$fileId/read.ts:
- Line 14: Update the file read handler to stop reading bearer credentials from
the token query parameter and instead parse the Authorization header using the
Bearer scheme. Update fileIngestion to send and consume this header-based
credential consistently, removing the query-string token flow while preserving
authentication behavior.
In `@apps/web-app/src/webapp/assistant/assistant.server.ts`:
- Around line 29-31: In the assistant request handler, move verifyAuthToken and
assertCanUseAssistant ahead of assistantChatInput.parse. Wrap
assistantChatInput.parse so Zod validation failures are converted to
AssistantError with HTTP status 400, while preserving the existing authenticated
request flow.
- Around line 84-112: Update assertCanUseAssistant and the surrounding assistant
request flow to reserve or record one usage event atomically before starting
streamText, preventing concurrent requests from exceeding the configured limit.
Ensure failed or unfinished streams cannot bypass quota accounting, and handle
recordAiUsage failures explicitly while preserving the existing limit error
behavior.
- Around line 23-24: Update the request validation around the messages schema to
validate each UIMessage at runtime before passing data.messages to
convertToModelMessages. Use validateUIMessages with the received messages, or an
equivalent schema, while preserving the existing minimum and maximum
message-count constraints.
In `@apps/web-app/src/webapp/files/fileIngestion.ts`:
- Around line 101-106: Update the file-read request around fileIngestion’s fetch
call and its corresponding route to remove the token query parameter and send
the token via an Authorization header using the Bearer scheme; ensure the route
reads and validates that header while preserving the existing file-read
behavior.
In `@apps/web-app/src/webapp/files/fileStorage.server.ts`:
- Around line 46-51: Update the upload flow around createR2PresignedPutUrl and
finalizeFileUpload to enforce that the PUT request’s content length exactly
matches parquetSizeBytes before storing the object. On finalization, delete any
object whose size mismatches or whose corresponding files row is absent, while
preserving usedBytes updates only for valid matching uploads.
In `@apps/web-app/src/webapp/files/useWorkspaceFileWorkflow.ts`:
- Around line 144-146: Update the file-loading effect in
useWorkspaceFileWorkflow so it returns without calling refreshTables when the
filtered list contains no files needing loading; retain the existing refresh
behavior after actual loads complete. Also update refreshTables in
useWorkspaceDuckDbRuntime to preserve the previous tableNames array when the
queried names are unchanged.
In `@apps/web-app/src/webapp/worksheet/useWorkspaceDuckDbRuntime.ts`:
- Around line 69-74: In useWorkspaceDuckDbRuntime, derive the returned runtime
and tableNames during render only when runtime?.workspaceKey matches
workspaceKey; otherwise return null, empty table names, and initializing status
during a workspace switch. Apply the same workspace-key guard in refreshTables,
and add a regression test covering rerendering with a changed workspaceId.
In `@apps/web-app/src/webapp/worksheet/WorksheetArtifact.tsx`:
- Around line 473-477: Update the MosaicDashboardPanelLayout usage in
WorksheetArtifact so readOnly charts force isOpen to false and do not mount the
editable settings content; preserve the existing behavior for editable charts.
Add a regression test covering a chart with settingsOpen: true in read-only
mode.
- Around line 41-44: Update WorksheetArtifact.tsx at lines 41-44 to select the
stable worksheet artifact reference in the room-store selector, then derive its
title with React.useMemo. At lines 103-108, select the stable content reference
or undefined, then create the empty-document fallback with React.useMemo; avoid
allocating objects or derived values inside either selector.
In `@apps/web-app/src/webapp/workspace/cloudWorkspaces.ts`:
- Line 115: Update the mutation flows around assertWorkspaceRole so each
workspace update or delete rechecks membership and the owner/editor role in its
database predicate at execution time. Treat zero affected rows as unauthorized,
preserving the existing authorization behavior while preventing stale pre-checks
from allowing mutations after membership changes.
- Around line 96-100: Make createCloudWorkspace atomic by executing the
workspaces insert and workspaceMembers insert within a transaction-capable
database operation, ensuring either both rows commit or both roll back when
membership creation fails. Preserve the existing workspace owner data and return
behavior.
In `@apps/web-app/src/webapp/workspace/useWorkspaceRoomSnapshot.ts`:
- Around line 47-50: Update the snapshot state and the [roomStore]
synchronization in useWorkspaceRoomSnapshot so a projection is only used when it
belongs to the current roomStore; clear or ignore the previous projection
immediately during store transitions before deriving workspaceContentSnapshot
and worksheets. Add a regression test that switches between two populated stores
without unmounting and verifies no stale content from the first store is
rendered.
In `@apps/web-app/src/webapp/workspace/workspaceAi.ts`:
- Around line 4-6: Update parseWorkspaceAiConfig to load persisted AI
configuration with safeParse and return a valid AiSliceConfig fallback when
validation fails, so malformed records such as {sessions: {}} do not throw
during workspace opening. Also validate configuration before persistence and add
a regression test covering the invalid persisted shape.
In `@apps/web-app/src/webapp/workspace/WorkspaceRoomProvider.tsx`:
- Around line 91-95: Update shouldHydrateRoomStore and its associated hydration
tracking to include content, layout, and aiConfig identities in addition to
roomStore and roomPersistence, so changes to any hydration input trigger
hydrateFromProps. After pause(hydrateFromProps) completes, update the tracked
identities for all hydration inputs.
In `@apps/web-app/src/webapp/workspace/WorkspaceSidebarSections.tsx`:
- Around line 173-178: Update WorkspaceSidebarSections and its callers to accept
an onCreateWorksheet callback, wiring it to both the expanded and collapsed “New
Worksheet” controls, including the DropdownMenuItem. If creation is not
available, disable both controls instead of leaving them interactive without
behavior.

Remove tables that fail preparation after loading
When a source file is within the input limit but its exported Parquet exceeds the 50 MB limit, loadFile has already created the target table before this throw. The caller reports the error and never records a PreparedWorkspaceFile, so that table remains usable only in the current DuckDB runtime and will not be uploaded when the workspace is saved; it disappears on reload. Drop the target table on this failure path (or retain it explicitly as a local file) so visible data remains portable.

Restore the persisted table when a replacement upload fails
For a saved workspace, replacement preparation has already atomically swapped the browser's DuckDB table before this upload is attempted, but a rejected upload skips the later branch that stores preparedFile for retry. The old cloud file remains authoritative while this tab continues to show the new, unsaved data; a reload silently reverts it and any document edits made against the replacement can be saved against different data. On failure, restore the stored table or keep the prepared replacement as retryable local state.

Return an authentication response for invalid file-read tokens
When a saved workspace is opened with an expired or malformed bearer token, verifyAuthToken throws AuthTokenVerificationError, which is neither a FileStorageError nor handled here. The file-read endpoint consequently returns a generic 500, so saved tables fail to restore as an apparent server error rather than an authentication failure. Map token-verification failures to a 401 response, as the chat route does.

Credit the replaced file when reserving storage quota
When a user is already at the 100 MB limit and replaces one of their 50 MB tables with another 50 MB table, this reservation adds the full new size before finalization removes the old file, so the upload intent is rejected even though the final usage would remain 100 MB. Apply the replaced file's bytes as an atomic reservation credit (when it belongs to the same account) so quota-full users can replace files without first deleting them.
Useful? React with 👍 / 👎.

The anonymous app initialized successfully at
http://localhost:3000/in both the Codex in-app browser and Chrome, with no console errors. Neither connected browser exposeddocument.modelContext, so the progressive fallback path was verified live and the ordinary app remained functional.Native WebMCP discovery/execution is still intentionally recorded as incomplete in the implementation plan. It requires a supporting Chrome build with

This PR remains draft. The plan's stage-level checkboxes stay open until their exit criteria are met; Stage 3 (standalone chat completion), Stage 4 (MCP Apps embed), Stage 6 (hosted sessions), and Stage 7 (release validation) are not claimed by this update.
