I spend most of my time in repositories I did not write.
Read the code, find the thing nobody wants to touch, leave it better than I found it.

Project What landed
CRIU 8 PRs in the Linux checkpoint/restore engine. TLS options across the RPC and C API surface, and a run of silent data loss fixes in tmpfs.
fetch.ai / innovation-lab-examples security-scanner agent
GirlScript Summer of Code Pomodoro Garden, React

CRIU saves the contents of a tmpfs by shelling out to tar. It wasn't passing --xattrs, so extended attributes disappeared across a checkpoint. Nor --acls, so POSIX ACLs and file capabilities went with them. Nothing warned. Each fix ships with a regression test that fails before it and passes after.

Good first issues are a fine door to walk through. The work worth doing is usually behind a label nobody has made yet.

Tales

Cotangent · a deep learning framework written from nothing, reverse-mode autodiff included. The proof it works is a character-level GPT trained on it end to end.

rerank-lab · live · dense embedding search and Cohere Rerank on the same arXiv corpus, side by side. P@5 went from 0.300 to 0.500 and five relevant papers came back from beyond the dense top five. It also did nothing for one query and made another slightly worse, which is in the write-up too.

CodeSentinel · an autonomous GitHub agent. Top 10, Polaris x Replit Agentverse.

CrashBerry · PyTorch. Top 50 of 8000, Meta x Hugging Face hackathon.

The Bleeding Path · a Godot game. First of 2000 plus, Daydream Hackathon.

Elsewhere

Lead UI/UX designer on the official Scaler School of Technology campus app, so the information architecture and the visual system are mine to get right. Before that, web and app development intern at MYPAATHSHAALA, and creative direction for Project Kitaab, an education access NGO in Delhi.
