Getting many "unrecognized GUI edit: selections[0]..." warnings when update the plot after applying selection.

Steps to reproduce

• Go to https://codepen.io/skochitove/pen/WboZaPv?editors=1111
• Click Box select in the plotly panel
• Select any point
• Click button Toggle lines
• result: a lot of "unrecognized GUI edit: selections[0]..." warnings

Notes

I actually use react chart editor with plotly version 2.35.2 and encountered the issue there. However, as you can see in the codepan, the issue is reproducable with pure plotly (without react chart editor) and on the latest plotly version.
Note, that the issue doesn't reproduce on version 2.12.1, it starts from version 2.13.0.
I also enabled showing log notification in UI on purpose because I want to show them to users. But the described steps generate too many warnings and it's really annoying and looks like there is something wrong with the selection.
