[FEATURE] Ability to disable certain menus (like the tag editor) #594
Is your feature request related to a problem? Please describe.
I often find myself going into the wrong menus and I especially do not want to accidentally edit files from the browse or tag editor menu (I am aware that I can provide a bogus mpd directory to prevent ncmpcppfrom modifying files).
Describe the solution you'd like
A simple array in the config of the different menu options that should be enabled. By default, they should all be enabled, but if one is removed from the array, that menu becomes inaccessible.
Can't you simply unbind the keybinding to the certain menu you do not want to access? Or if it's not possible to unbind the menu (that is, if the default keybinding is always applied unless overwritten), can't you simply bind the keybinding to a key you are sure not to hit by accident?

This is already available as an option in the configuration file as
screen_switcher_mode.https://github.com/ncmpcpp/ncmpcpp/blob/master/doc/config#L442
If you only specify the screens you want, when the
next_screenkey is pressed, it will skip the others.ErtaiBlue commentedon Apr 3, 2024
