[Request] Italic text

Currently the available formatting tags are ${b,u,a,r}. It would be great to have a $i for italic text.

Is there a way to make this happen using terminal escape sequences?

I'm fairly confident this is possible with ncurses - but yes, it's also possible with escape sequences.

I'd love to see this supported.

I've just hacked together a patch for this. I'm not a C programmer at all but might submit a PR.
