Expected behaviour

Issue Type: Bug

Please allow me to STOP "Discovering Python Interpreters." This goes on for way to long, and I already know which one I want to use. I don't need you "Discovering" anything.

Also, it is confusing to have you "Discovering" when there is already a python interpreter selected and show just two columns over to the left in the status bar.

    @karrtikr

    This goes on for way to long

    This should not happen, ideally shouldn't be more than 1 minute, does it get stuck forever?
