Related to #2365 and #2447: the initialization crash is fixed in [email protected], but a fresh installation of microsoft/markitdown from the VS Code MCP gallery still creates:
Reproduction
- Install
microsoft/markitdown from the VS Code MCP gallery.
- Start it through MCP: List Servers.
- The server shows an error. The agent-host log reports exit code 1 before initialization:
ListToolsRequest.method
Input should be 'tools/list'
input_value='server/discover'
Removing the configuration and reinstalling produces the same version pin and failure.
Testing 0.0.1a7 with the same server/discover probe returns “Method not found” without crashing, then successfully initializes and lists convert_to_markdown.
Expected
The gallery should install a compatible version rather than the known-broken 0.0.1a4.
Could the gallery metadata be updated? If it is maintained elsewhere, please point me to the correct repository.
Environment
- VS Code: 1.140.0 (user setup)
