Server memory grows under sustained load: RSS 251 -> 1,012 MiB in a 30-minute soak (glibc arena retention) #376
Found by the sustained soak (#366, #298) on the benchmark host: zero correctness divergences across ~263M observations, but server RSS grew 251 -> 1,012 MiB over 30 minutes, traced to glibc multi-arena retention. Capping arenas (MALLOC_ARENA_MAX) flattens RSS but costs ~40% throughput. Fix candidates: switch the server to jemalloc or mimalloc (measure throughput and RSS), or periodic malloc_trim. Acceptance: the 30-minute soak shows flat RSS (bounded growth) with no throughput regression in the perf gate. Details in PR #366's body.

Fixed in #379 (merged, CI green): jemalloc; 30-min soak flat at 124 MiB (was 1012).
