The final project for the Johns Hopkins Coursera course, Getting and Cleaning Data
Both run_analysis.R and run_analysis.Rmd are identical code, except that run_analysis.Rmd is in a markdown format for reviewer readability.
The code assumes that the following files, downloaded from https://d396qusza40orc.cloudfront.net/getdata%2Fprojectfiles%2FUCI%20HAR%20Dataset.zip are in the working directory, unaltered from the downloaded and extracted format:
features.txt X_train.txt X_test.txt y_train.txt Y_train.txt subject_train.txt subject_test.txt activity_labels.txt
These were downloaded and extracted from within the R environment for this analysis, but that code was not included as part of the run_analysis.R or run_analysis.Rmd code provided here due to differences in computer operating systems and file structures among reviewers. The file download code is available seperately as Course_Project_Exploration.Rmd.
The output of the code is a file called myTidyData.txt. It is included as part of this repository. A codebook for this data set is included.
