Three tools for browser-extension developers. They are related but genuinely different shapes, so they are separate entries rather than one:

Entry tool_type What it is
Extenshi CLI cli Pre-publish security scan of a packaged extension, plus a Chrome Web Store review-risk check and publishing to Chrome/Firefox/Edge. On npm as @extenshi/cli.
Extenshi Catalog platform Cross-store catalog of Chrome, Firefox, and Edge extensions with automated scanning, safety scores, and permission analysis.
Extenshi MCP Server api Exposes the catalog over the Model Context Protocol to Claude, Claude Code, and Cursor — hosted connector or local stdio.

Notes on the schema

 • Categories are limited to slugs already in use in content/tools/ (extensions, cli-tools, backend). data/categories.yaml is referenced by CONTRIBUTING.md but is not in the repo, so I matched existing entries instead of inventing slugs.
 • long_description is a single plain-text paragraph per entry, matching the existing files — the template renders it as
{{ . }}
, so markdown in that field would show as literal syntax.
 • open_source: false, so github and license are omitted rather than pointed at something misleading.

Verification

Built locally with Hugo v0.165.0 extended (hugo --gc --minify):

 • Build clean, no errors or warnings.
 • All three pages render at /tools/{slug}/ and appear on the /tools/ index.
 • Every category slug used resolves to an existing category page — no orphan categories created.

Happy to merge these into a single entry if you would rather the directory carry one listing per vendor.

Three tools for browser-extension developers: a CLI pre-publish security
scanner, the cross-store extension catalog behind it, and an MCP server
exposing both to AI clients.

Verified with a local `hugo --gc --minify` build (v0.165.0 extended):
all three pages render, appear on /tools/, and every category slug used
(extensions, cli-tools, backend) resolves to an existing category page.
