TL;DR: Backend Engineer (Python)

For 4+ years, I've been coding professionally in PHP (Laravel) and TypeScript/JavaScript as a full-stack engineer working with different combinations of frontends (e.g., Blade, Vue).

While I'm still open to PHP-related roles, I've been moving more toward backend engineering in tech stacks that are closer to enterprise (e.g., Java, Go) and AI engineering (e.g. Python), with a primary focus on Python. My long-term goal for Python is to leverage its AI-native ecosystem, so that I can improve my ability to deliver AI-integrated products at scale.

I engage in volunteer work frequently.

For instance, I have helped Sts. Peter and Paul Orthodox Church (South River, NJ) with modernizing their website saintpeterandpaul.org (built on Orthodox Web Solutions CMS).

Because I'm primarily in the Apple ecosystem, I've worked on some iOS/macOS apps to improve niche processes.

For static websites, I'm a real fan of the Astro x Cloudflare combo, which I leverage for my danielhaven.com personal website alongside a few others.

I credit AI-assisted engineering/learning (with tools like Claude Code and GitHub Copilot) for helping me to bridge the gap between differents languages and stacks.

I credit my existing experience and knowledge (as a software engineer of 4+ years and a techie of 6+ years) for being able to learn and apply common patterns across all these different languages, stacks and frameworks.

Outside of coding, I'm working on getting certified in Amazon Web Services (AWS), alongside improving my working knowledge of distributed systems and system design skills.

I have an exam coming toward the beginning of August for AWS Certified Cloud Practioner. Wish me luck!
