Summary

  • Removes staging-era branch check workflow and updates guidance to direct release flow.
  • Moves release workflow to GitHub Release–driven trigger (release: types: [created] for tag v*).
  • Adds back-merge workflow for automated master -> development PRs.
  • Adds strict version validation workflow using setup.py (plus __init__.py consistency guard).
  • Migrates changelog from changelog.rst to CHANGELOG.md and updates references.
