   Same problem, macOS here too.
   Atom: 1.16.0
   Autocomplete-python; 1.8.63

   Noticed the Python process was killing my CPU because of the fans, ran ps -aef | grep python to find the autocomplete script running.

   Same problem but with Ubuntu 14.04
   Atom: 1.17.2
   Autocomplete-python; 1.8.63

   I killed the process and everything look like is running properly thought.

   autocomplete-python: 1.10.3
   OS: Windows

   Same here. I am using windows though. The particular file that is causing the High CPU usage is completion.py.

   Everything is fine if we kill the process but it keeps restarting every once in a while.

   OS. Ubuntu 16.04 x64

   I have the same issue. 100% CPU for 1 core and closed atom editor doesn't help. User must kill this process manually. I'm not using Kite.
