Sr. AI Architect at Google Cloud · Pune, India
I’ve spent 12+ years building software, with much of that time focused on machine learning, backend systems, and now generative AI.
At Google Cloud, I work with financial services companies on how to put AI to use. Before this, I led AI engineering at Elastic and worked on fraud detection, identity verification, and risk systems at Synapse.
I like being close to the code. Architecture is a big part of my work, but so is building something, finding where it breaks, and figuring out whether the extra complexity was worth it.
Most of my work involves agents, retrieval, enterprise search, and the backend infrastructure around them. My earlier ML work covered NLP, computer vision, and fraud detection.
I’m particularly interested in the questions that show up after a demo works: How do we evaluate it? What happens when a dependency fails? Can we make it faster? What will it cost at ten times the usage?
I’ve also led engineering teams and mentored engineers. I enjoy working through difficult design decisions together, especially when the answer turns out to be simpler than we expected.
Python is my strongest language. I also build with TypeScript, React, and Next.js when a project needs a proper interface.
For AI work, I use Gemini and Vertex AI, LangGraph, and PyTorch. On the systems side, my background includes Google Cloud, AWS, Docker, Kubernetes, Elasticsearch, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, and Redis.
The choice depends on the problem and who has to maintain it.
I studied Computer Science at UNC Charlotte, where I focused on AI and machine learning. I lived in San Francisco before moving back to India, and I’m now based in Pune.
I’m also an OpenAI Codex Ambassador.
Away from work, I’m into Indian classical music, philosophy, and spirituality. Always happy to talk about any of those, or something interesting you’re building.
Personal projects and views are my own.
