A voice-command and AI-conversation mod for 7 Days to Die, built on SphereII's 0-SCore / NPCCore. Talk to your hired NPCs by voice — squad and positioning commands, or a real conversation powered by a local LLM, speech-to-text and text-to-speech. No cloud, no API keys, nothing leaves your machine.

The packages are up to 3.6 GB of models and voices, which is far past what GitHub can host, so the built mod lives on Nexus and this repo holds the code that produces it. Building here gives you the mod DLL, not a playable package — see Building.
| Package | Size | What you get |
|---|---|---|
| Complete | ~3.6 GB | Everything: voice commands, TTS, speech-to-text, LLM conversation and RAG memory. The chat model is included |
| Voice | ~590 MB | Voice commands, TTS and speech-to-text. No LLM conversation. |
| Core | ~670 KB | Voice commands only, no AI payload at all. This is the base Client and also the dedicated-server package — servers need no models or engines. |
All three are self-contained; Core is the smallest choice in the lineup, not a base the others sit on top of.

⛔ A source build produces 1-XNPCVoiceControl.dll and nothing else — no sidecar servers, no
models, no voices. The packaging pipeline needs the sidecar sources, which are not in this repo, so
you cannot build Complete, Voice or Core here. Download a package from Nexus, then replace its DLL
with yours.
That is the normal workflow for modifying this mod, and it works fine — the DLL is the part you'd want to change.
You need: .NET SDK 8+ (download), the game
installed, and 0-SCore + 0_TFP_Harmony in the game's Mods\ folder.
dotnet build -c ReleaseOn a standard Steam install that is the whole thing — the game folder is auto-detected and every reference path, 0-SCore included, is derived from it. No file needs editing.
If your game is elsewhere, point the build at it (highest precedence first):
dotnet build -c Release -p:GamePath="E:\Your\Path\7 Days To Die"set SDTD_GAMEPATH=E:\Your\Path\7 Days To Die
dotnet build -c Release…or copy Local.props.example to Local.props (git-ignored) and put your path there.
A wrong path fails with one clear message naming what it could not find, rather than a wall of compiler errors.
Output: bin\Release\1-XNPCVoiceControl.dll. Back up the DLL in your installed
Mods\1-XNPCVoiceControl\ and replace only that file — keep the existing Config/,
Resources/, Plugins/ and server folders.
