Describe the bug
In Linux Mint, Using "Open in Browser" button when Brave is already open, the link opens in a new instance of Brave (with a new profile, e.g. no bookmarks or favourites), instead of a tab in the existing opened Brave.
Brave in my instance was in Flatpak.
Expected behavior
I expected the URL to open in a new tab in my existing Brave instance.

Additional context
I found a workaround using Lumo AI. Its report:
Environment: Linux Mint, StreamController Flatpak 1.5.0-beta.16, Brave installed as Flatpak (com.brave.Browser)
Symptom: Built-in URL action opens a new, isolated Brave instance instead of a tab in the running one
Ruled out: flatpak override --user --filesystem=host doesn't fix it; removing a conflicting native Brave install doesn't fix it; Brave is confirmed as the default browser
Working workaround: flatpak run com.brave.Browser "" executed as a custom shell command — attaches to the existing instance correctly. They may want to route their URL action through flatpak-spawn --host or the system portal (xdg-desktop-portal's OpenURI interface) instead of a direct xdg-open, which is likely how the intended fix will look.
