The issue is that
VectorOfArrayindexing will not mutate aVectorOfArray{StructArray}due to the wayStructArraystreats assignment: https://juliaarrays.github.io/StructArrays.jl/stable/counterintuitive/#Modifying-a-field-of-a-struct-element. For example:
