Summary

  • Include Azure Linux 4 x64 and ARM64 repositories in both stable and preview PMC publication.
  • Use the existing default-all channel semantics instead of duplicating repository mappings.
  • Preserve the preview package naming behavior, so preview releases publish the powershell-preview package.

Repository verification

Azure Linux 4 currently exposes one public beta repository per architecture, unlike Azure Linux 3's separate stable and preview repositories:

  • https://packages.microsoft.com/azurelinux/4.0/beta/microsoft/x86_64/ and its repodata/repomd.xml are available; its config.repo declares that exact base URL.
  • https://packages.microsoft.com/azurelinux/4.0/beta/microsoft/aarch64/ and its repodata/repomd.xml are available; its config.repo declares that exact base URL.
  • The Azure Linux 4 root exposes only beta/; preview/ and prod/ do not exist.

The mapping url values are PMC logical prefixes for these public beta repositories, and the release code appends -yum. Removing the stable-only selector therefore intentionally publishes powershell-preview into the existing Azure Linux 4 beta repositories rather than inventing nonexistent preview mappings.

Release operation

This is an operational mapping correction on release/v7.7.0-preview.5. The tagged v7.7.0-preview.5 release commit remains unchanged; only the release branch advances with this correction.

After this PR merges, a separate, explicitly authorized PMC rerun is required to publish the Azure Linux 4 packages. This PR does not trigger or retry that publication.
