Impact

REQUIRED: Choose either Tooling Impact or Customer Impact (or both). At least one checkbox must be selected.

Tooling Impact

  • Required tooling change
  • Optional tooling change (include reasoning)

Updates actions/setup-dotnet from 5.2.0 to 5.3.0 in analysis, macOS CI, Windows packaging, and xUnit workflows so release-branch automation uses the approved current action revision.

Customer Impact

  • Customer reported
  • Found internally

Regression

REQUIRED: Check exactly one box.

  • Yes
  • No

This is not a regression.

Testing

Cherry-pick completed cleanly. Verified a clean worktree, reviewed the commit stat showing only the four intended workflow action-version substitutions, and ran git diff --check successfully. Full workflow execution will be validated by backport CI.

Risk

REQUIRED: Check exactly one box.

  • High
  • Medium
  • Low

High risk under the repository guidance because this changes the .NET setup action used by multiple CI and packaging workflows. The change is limited to a Dependabot-reviewed action version bump already validated on master.
