ANS1 driver on A8X not unmounting filesystems on halt/reboot #19

Closed as duplicate

Description

@noplanplaneyt

When a filesystem is mounted and the command halt -f or reboot -f is executed, you can see the following kernel messages:

apple-asp 208040000.block: removing ASP
EXT4-fs (asp0n1p2): shutdown requested (2)
Aborting journal on device asp0n1p2-8

Steps to reproduce:

  1. Build Linux from the "ans1" branch, enabeling ANS1 support
  2. Partition your device to have at least one unused partition (here: /dev/disk0s2 or /dev/asp0n1p2 on Linux)
  3. Boot a Linux ramdisk. ( in my case set up to allow connecting to SSH over USB)
  4. Execute mkfs.ext4 -F /dev/asp0n1p2 to create an EXT4 filesystem on the second partition
  5. Mount the partition with mount -t ext4 -o rw /dev/asp0n1p2 /mnt
  6. Execute reboot -f. ( or halt -f if you want to read the output)

I hope this was helpful,
thanks for your support!
