Description

"I have used this tool for a quick. It will be good if you can provide skills or rules out of the box. So I dont need to remind telling my Cursor agent to use this mcp all the time. Wonder how others are using this kind of tools. For me, Cursor agents often ignore using this tool if I do not strictly mention it in my prompt"

    Hi @Shashankss1205,

I would love to solve this issue under GSSoC 2026!

I am working closely with AI/Agentic systems, so I totally get how frustrating it is when Cursor agents ignore custom tools like CGC unless we explicitly write it in the prompt every single time.

My approach to fix this out-of-the-box:

    1. Create a clear .cursorrules file at the root of the project.
    2. Write strict instructions for the LLM to automatically trigger the CGC tool whenever a user asks about project architecture, dependencies, or code graphs.
    3. Keep the rules lightweight so they don't cause prompt pollution but strictly enforce tool usage.

This will make using CGC seamless for everyone. Could you please assign this issue to me? I am ready to open a clean PR!

The repository includes .cursor/skills/codegraphcontext/SKILL.md. #1766 carries #1749's corrected setup links. Verify installation/discovery in the intended client before treating automatic tool usage as solved.
