is this your build of ffmpeg or distro build? its impossible for us to debug a year old distro build on some old random hardware. you would have to build and run ffmpeg with less external libs so we can eliminate if the problem is ffmpeg or some other lib.

can you build git master ffmpeg and tell us if the bug still exists?

did you check your dmesg? nothing useful in there about the shutdown? was it a kernel panic?
