By using the XUnit engine directly we can increase the performance X10. The reason for this is that there is not process management overhead and that we can test assemblies in memory.
I tried to implement this however there was a bug in the NUnit source code that causes test assemblies to be locked. This bug prevents me from reusing the test assemblies for the various test runs. Before we can integrate NUnit this issue has to be resolved.
